Kehan Lai is interested in the experimentation and the break-up of images through process of photographing, printing, taping, scene-builidng, and re-photographing. Using the language of abstraction, her work tries to "push the repertoire of camera-based art".
She holds a BFA photography degree from Parsons School of Design and her works have been exhibited in many places including the US, Germany, Italy, Australia, and China. She is the winner for the Reclaim Award in 2021 and the finalist for The New Photography Award at Ballarat International Foto Biennale in 2019. She had residency at Swatch Art Peace Hotel from 2021-2022.
Kehan is also the creator behind the photography podcast Iridescener.
